How to get there?
If you live in Mexico, easiest way to get there is by flying to Chetumal. A private cab to Bacalar will cost about 700 MXN but there are ”colectivos” that will make stops at several hotels and charge about 250 MXN per person.
If you are coming from Europe and find it too difficult to get to Chetumal, you can fly to Cancún and rent a car, take a bus or hire taxi services to take you to Bacalar. The distance is about 330 KM.
If you take the bus, please note that you will need to take a bus to Cancun center, Tulum or Playa del Carmen and then connect to Bacalar. Total time with the bus is about six hours.

Bacalar is a small and peaceful town. There are plenty of restaurants and bars where you can find all sorts of food and drinks! Also, do not miss the great beach clubs around town to spend a lazy day next to the lake…
Moving around is quite easy if you’re staying at a hotel in town but taxis are always available and bikes can definitely be a great option.
The temperatures in November can well reach 30 degrees Celsius so stay hydrated! Please make sure that your sunscreen is bio-degradable and ”Reef safe”.
We look forward to have you with us but this time, only everyone over 18 years old should join.
Dresscode: formal-tropical. For men, guayaberas are desirable if you have one, otherwise opt for light formal clothing as it can be quite hot! For women, cocktail summer dresses are great. Please note that this is a garden with grass so it might be better to avoid stilettos!
Gifts: the best gift we could receive is that you join us, so no need to bring any presents!
